Operations Manager

Description

The Operations Manager reports directly to the President and CEO and is responsible for the complete oversight of the office-based operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and performance management to Project Managers and Project & Operations Administrator.
• Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing company safety policies, maintaining safety standards, and working closely with the field team to ensure compliance across all sites.
• Create and action departmental business plan that aligns with company’s strategic plan and goals.
• Support workload distribution across the project management team to maximize efficiency, resource utilization, and project outcomes.
• Participate in senior-level project reviews, risk assessments, client meetings, and site meetings as required.
• Collaborate with peers on leadership team to develop systems and strategies that support the company’s future growth and contribute to company-wide strategic planning and operational decision-making.
• Lead the development and execution of long-term plans for the Project Management department, including workforce planning, team structure, and succession planning.
• Collaborate closely with the Construction Manager to ensure alignment between office-based project teams and field teams, supporting seamless project delivery throughout project lifecycle.
• Lead project planning and execution, monitoring project health across all active jobs, ensuring alignment with budgets, schedules, scopes, safety & quality standards, and acceptable profitability levels.
• Identify and implement systems & standardizations to project management software, processes, procedures, and tools, whilst minimizing overhead costs and operating within budgets.
• Champion a culture of accountability, communication, and professional growth within the team, fostering a high-performing, and engaged team culture with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Support the HR department in recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of project team members to suit the needs, budget and long-term growth of the company.
• Partner with Construction Manager to plan and implement project strategies during pre-construction and construction phases.
• Lead the estimating and sales teams and collaborate with the Construction Manager in evaluating projects and determining which ones to pursue.
• Assist with the development of the annual operating budgets & rate sheets for project management & operations teams.
• Develop, build, and maintain relationships with all clients, client representatives, sub-trades, vendors, and key stakeholders.
• Oversee and manage all project disputes and claims with support from the Construction Manager and operations team.
• Provide technical and operational expertise and support for Project Management.
• Oversee project close-outs and final budget reviews with the operations team and Construction Manager, ensuring completion of financial reconciliation.

Compensation

$145,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
