Project Manager

Description

The position of Project Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the complete management of construction projects from Estimation to Project Closeout.    
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain safety standards throughout each project phase & ensure safe work practices onsite.
  • Complete projects on, or ahead of schedule and ensure project profitability.
  • Estimate, review, and negotiate contracts; liaise with legal counsel (as appropriate), in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement project schedule(s). Review plans and specifications for constructability.
  • Prepare detailed job costs and accurate forecasting reports.
  • Interpret and manage contractual obligations.
  • Understanding and escalation of project risk.
  • Manage & organize project operations on daily, weekly, monthly, & quarterly basis.
  • Identify changes to project scope. Submit & negotiate budget estimates, contracts, change orders, & RFI’s throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage client expectations.
  • Review and approve invoices. Process progress billings.
  • Ensure project(s) are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Lead meetings with trade subcontractors and superintendents to discuss progress, obstacles, and solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, subtrades, and project team to ensure alignment of expectations and communicate objectives for critical milestones
  • Mentor & leverage Project Coordinator(s) to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience reading and interpreting contract requirements. Specific knowledge of CCDC contracts considered an asset.
  • Exceptional communication, problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and thorough knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, and Project Management Software (Knowledge of Procore, MS Projects, inBuild, & Bluebeam an asset).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of safe work practices & ability to implement safety procedures to ensure safety of all workers, visitors, and stakeholders onsite.
  • Experience in commercial building construction and multifamily construction.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction process; drawings/blueprints, specifications, schedules, budgets, closeouts, etc.
  • Demonstration of continuous improvement strategies and ability to lead and motivate project teams with hands-on approach from start up through completion.
  • Experience building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
·        Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 license, with clean driving record.
·        Eligible to legally work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
·        Must live in the Bow Valley/be willing to drive to project sites throughout Bow Valley.
Compensation & Benefits:
·        Salary based on experience, starting at $100,000/year.
·        Minimum 3 weeks’ vacation per year.
